About Singing Sandy

In spring of 2005 this tiny, flea-infested kitten showed up at my door. She
screamed as loud as she could until we got up and brought her inside.

A bath took care of most of the fleas, and the vet gave her a clean bill of
health. She was about three months old when she found us, but very small for
her age.

I snapped this photo of her yawning on a window, and my husband immediately
said she looked like she was singing.

She loved to sing at us, we'd frequently hear this loud meow as we entered a
room she was in and she had this amazingly loud purr that you could hear
anywhere in the room. She'd start purring if she saw you even looking at
her.

Sandy stayed tiny, but had a huge presence in our lives. When fully grown
she only weighed five pounds. Her nicknames were Munchkin and Sandylion.
